I saw a poster that said “reading is dreaming with your eyes wide open.” I agree and sharing these dreams are one way to make everyday moments count. For me, reading books are teaching moments and learning moments as a mom. I try to pick books that are not just fun but also make lasting impression.
We read a lot at our house. I have read to my daughter since she was 2 months old. Now she loves reading. There are nights where are bedtime routine starts earlier just so we can read more books. Most people know of Dr. Seuss and the Velveteen Rabbit. I would rather concentrate on the lesser known books or the new classics that my family has come to love.
We have our own collection that we read over and over. Most of the time, I prefer to check it out from the library and only buy the ones we cannot live without. Here are some of our favorites.
There is a saying. In good books the best is between the lines. It goes without saying that the conversations are as critical as the story telling.
I have a link to buy these books, but it is always a good idea to check it out from the library first. In my perspective, some books are a buy and others can be borrowed from the library.
