By Julia Donaldson, illustrated by Axel Scheffler
Julia Donaldson is a gifted storyteller. She has written multiple books that reside in our library and our hearts. Room on the Broom is about a lovable witch that befriends many different animals while journeying on her broom stick. She is generous and kind. Her kindness is reciprocated onto her in her hour of need by the creatures she helped.
I like this book because it has rhythm and rhyme and is very well written. The repetitive lines in this books has my daughter reading along with me and makes this book very memorable. I also like that the witch is shown in a kind light. I tell my kid to let people prove who they are instead of judging them for your preconceived notions of them.
