“Stand Back,” Said the Elephant, “I’m going to Sneeze!” Story by Patricia Thomas Pictures by Wallace Tripp

I read this book when I was a kid.  Now from a parent’s perspective, it is still good. The story is about an elephant who feels a tickle in his nose. He announces, to the horror of the other animals, he is going to sneeze. The animals express their fears in this rhyming poetic narrative that is entertaining and humorous. Just when it seems inevitable, a tiny mouse jumps out and scares the elephant into forgetting to sneeze.  That is not the end.  This book is well written and worth the read.
