Only One You by Linda Kranz.
This book is about a little rock fish that is about to set out into the world. Before he leaves, his parents have some advice and wisdom to impart to him. It is simple advice like knowing when to speak and when to listen, appreciating art, and not always following the crowd. To me the most important line is the very last line. “There’s only one you in this great big world.” The mother states. “Make it a better place.”
My daughter likes the illustrations. They are fishes painted on rocks. Although I feel like the message in this book is an important one that needs to be reiterated from time to time, I would check this out from the library and see how you like it.
